In March 2020, when Chicago went into its first lockdown, I began collaging in an effort to keep myself busy. Unable to go thrifting, I sent out a plea for supplies and strangers answered my call with such generosity it absolutely floored me. I was given access to such glorious stashes of maps, magazines, books, and memorabilia! Perhaps best of all, I made new friends, too.
The entire time I worked on this collage, I was thinking about the things that cause our hearts to feel imprisoned or isolated, and how an unexpected connection with another soul can melt away loneliness.
Collage measures 4x6 inches, mounted on card stock, and is the only one in existence. Perfect for hanging on a wall or displaying on a mini easel.
