I love that I can't decide if this bird belongs on Sesame Street or in a Grimm Fairytale. Is it scary, creepy, or cute? It could go either way. Especially since it was drawn by Arthur Rackham, who famously illustrated the original Brothers Grimm stories at the turn of the century. Regardless of what this bird's essential character is, when I saw this little guy, I felt he deserved a new life. I stitched him at the same time as the little mouse, and they sit on my bookshelf, making friends and having a grand old time until they find their forever homes.
Single strand embroidery in a 4 inch, hand-painted black hoop. Perfect for tucking into a corner of a bookshelf or hanging on the wall.
